Meijer AAA 18U defenseman Behl signs NAHL tender
The Meijer AAA hockey club of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) is pleased to announce that 18U defenseman Tyler Behl has signed a North American Hockey League tender agreement with the Shreveport Mudbugs in the NAHL’s South Division.
Behl, 18, is in his first season playing for Meijer AAA in the NAPHL. The 5’9/160 lbs. native of Allendale, Michigan, has appeared in 18 games so far during the 2020-21 season and has recorded 17 points (2 goals, 15 assists), which ranks him tied for 4th among all NAPHL 18U defensemen this season.
Behl was also selected to and played in the 2020-21 NAPHL 18U All-Star Game, where he had a goal in the event. Behl was a 2020 Draft Pick of the Northeast Generals after attending an NAHL Combine during the Summer of 2020.
Behl is the seventh player from the Meijer AAA 18U team who has signed an NAHL tender agreement so far this season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2021 NAHL Draft.
