NAPHL Players recognized in NAHL Supplemental Draft
The North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) is pleased to announce 10 current or former players were selected in the 2020 North American Hockey League (NAHL) Supplemental Draft, which was held back on May 12th.
The NAHL Supplemental Draft was added as a new addition for the 2020-21 season to serve as an additional outlet for teams to make decisions on how players performed in the 2019-20 season. The NAHL wanted to protect the 2019-20 in-season evaluation of players, while giving players the chance to showcase themselves to teams in the important evaluation camps teams have come to rely upon in building their rosters.
The 10 players selected comes on the heels of NAPHL advancement success earlier in the Spring with both the NA3HL and USHL Drafts. In total, 36 players that played in the NAPHL or in NAPHL events were drafted by NA3HL clubs and 24 current or former players who played in the NAPHL were selected in Phase I and II of the 2020 USHL Draft.
The NAPHL has enjoyed a record-breaking amount of advancement, which is highlighted by a large amount of advancement of players to the NAHL. No other USA Hockey Midget Tier I league has had more players play in the NAHL over the course of the last three seasons than the NAPHL, which included over 80+ NAPHL alumni playing in the NAHL during the 2019-20 season.
The NAPHL has proved over the years that the league is a great stepping-stone for development and training for young hockey players looking to gain experience and knowledge to work their way up to the National level. No other USA Hockey Midget Tier I league has had more players play in the NAHL over the course of the last three seasons than the NAPHL, which included over 80+ NAPHL alumni playing in the NAHL during the 2019-20 season.
