NAPHL Alumni Update

December 19, 2019

Austin Ryman, who played in the NAPHL the past two seasons, earned NAHL star of the week honors in the Midwest Division.

Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week: Trevin Kozlowski, Army (California Titans, 2010-11)
Kozlowski continued his strong run in between the pipes for Army, leading the Black Knights to a five-point weekend against Robert Morris. He opened the series with a 25-save shutout, stopping 11 in the final stanza to secure his first shutout of the season. The next day, Kozlowski made 32 saves and stopped a shootout attempt to help Army get the bonus point after the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

ECAC Goalie of the Week: Corbin Kaczperski, Yale (Detroit Falcons, 2012-14)
Kaczperski earns his second consecutive Goalie of the Week honors after backstopping Yale to a 3-1 win against Maine on Tuesday in New Haven. The Bulldog net minder stopped 31 of the 32 shot he faced for a .969 save percentage and 1.00 GAA.

NCHC Goalie of the Week: Devin Cooley, Denver (San Jose Jr. Sharks, 2013-15)
In his only start of the weekend, Cooley backstopped Denver to a 3-0 shutout of rival Colorado College last Friday at Magness Arena. He turned aside all 24 shots he faced, including 11 in the third period, for his first shutout of the season in only his third start/appearance this year. It was his fifth career whitewash after four last season. Of his 24 saves, four came short-handed as he helped kill all three CC power plays. Cooley was tabbed First Star of the Game Friday for his efforts. With his 1.000 save percentage and 0.00 goals-against average on Friday night, he upped his season save percentage to .958 and lowered his GAA to 0.98 on the year. Cooley is now 2-0-1 in his three starts this season after recovering from an injury.

NAHL Midwest Division Star of the Week: Austin Ryman, Fairbanks Ice Dogs (Wenatchee Wolves 2017-19)
This week, another Ice Dogs goalie is honored as Austin Ryman, 19, picked up two wins for the Ice Dogs in their series in Janesville against the Jets. The NAPHL grad and 5’10/170 lbs. native of Fairbanks, Alaska, won back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday as the Ice Dogs kept pace for the Midwest Division lead. On Friday, Ryman stopped 22 of 23 shots in a 3-1 win, and then on Saturday, he stopped all 13 shots that came his way for his third shutout of the season in an 8-0 win. For the season, Ryman has a 1.93 goals against average and a .907 save percentage in eight games played.

NA3HL Central Division Star of the Week: Dillan Bentley, Peoria Mustangs (Madison Capitols (2016-19)
Bentley had a Showcase showing to remember with eight points in three games to guide Peoria to a perfect 3-0 record. A hat-trick and two assists on Sunday led to another two strikes on Monday, a scoring eruption after Bentley had posted just a single tally in his prior five outings. On Tuesday, he found twine once more to ensure his name in the goal column during each Showcase contest. Bentley now boasts 7g-6a—13pts in just his last five games.
