Sioux Falls 16U forward Montgomery makes NCAA DI commitment

September 6, 2018
The Sioux Falls Power Hockey Tier 1 Program of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) is proud to announce forward Dane Montgomery has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the University of North Dakota in the NCHC.

The 5’9/165 lbs. native of Grand Forks, North Dakota, is a draft pick of the Sioux Falls Stampede and was recently named to their 30-man roster. In addition to being drafted in the USHL, Montgomery, represented USA at the 5 Nations tournament in Slovakia this past August, being named assistant captain and earning a bronze medal. Montgomery is entering his first season with the Sioux Falls Power Hockey Tier 1 Program.

“Dane Montgomery is a consummate competitor who loves the game of hockey. He is a dynamic forward that plays a hard, responsible 200-foot game. In addition to how hard Dane competes, he has a very good skill set and is a great skater, which makes him a legitimate threat every single shift. The University of North Dakota is getting a young man with outstanding character that also has an elite work ethic. We are proud to have Dane in the Sioux Falls Power Hockey program,” said 16U Head Coach, Noelle Needham.
