Rocky Mountain RoughRiders Win 15U Dixon Cup Championship

Rocky Mountain RoughRiders defeat Elite Hockey Program 5-4 to win the Dixon Cup Championship.

BLAINE, Minn. - The 2017-18 15U PHL season has crowned a new Dixon Cup Champion, the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders. The RoughRiders defeated Elite Hockey Program 5-4 in the shootout. Elite Hockey Program were undefeated in the playoffs and took an early 3-1 lead in the game, but ultimately fell in the three round shootout.

Elit Hockey Program took an early 3-1 lead after scoring three goals in the first period alone. Things looked promising for Elite Hockey after one period, but the RoughRiders came back and tied the game in the third period, forcing overtime. After no scoring in two overtimes, the game went to a three round shootout. Thanks to forward Ryan Larese for Rocky Mountain the RoughRiders won the Dixon Cup Championship in the shootout.

 

The 16U and 18U Dixon Cup Championship will take place February 16-18, 2018 in Troy, Michigan at the Troy Sports Center.
