CarShield AAA 18U forward Brown signs NAHL tender
November 28, 2017
The CarShield AAA Hockey organization of the NAPHL is pleased to announce that 18U forward Eric Brown has signed an North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Topeka RoadRunners of the South Division.
Brown, 17, is in his second season playing in the NAPHL for the CarShield/Selects organization. The native of St. Louis, Missouri is off to a great start so far this season. In 25 overall games, Brown (5’9/157) has recorded 25 points. In NAPHL play, he ranks 2nd on the team in scoring with 16 points in 13 games played.
Last season, Brown had a great year for the then St. Louis Selects 16U team, recording 31 points in 22 games played. He was also named to and played in the NAPHL 16U All-Star Game for Team Suter, where he recorded an assist in the game.
He also has played locally for the Christian Brothers College High School program.
He is the third player from the CarShield AAA 18U team who has signed an NAHL tender this season, which includes forward Joe Winkelmann and goalie Kyle McClellan.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 5, 2018.
