Madison 18U forward Fader signs NAHL tender
January 17, 2015
The Madison Capitols, proud members of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL), are pleased to announce that forward Jordan Fader has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Soo Eagles. The Eagles play in the NAHL’s North Division.
Fader, 17, is in his first season playing in the NAPHL with the Capitols. Previously, Fader (6’1/190) has playing experience with Team Wisconsin and Rice Lake High School in Wisconsin.
The native of Rice Lake, Wisconsin is a having a great season thus far for the 1st place Capitols. In NAPHL action, he is 2nd on the team in scoring with 27 points in the 21 games played to date, which includes 13 goals and 14 assists. That includes three goals in the first two games of the most recent Showcase in Troy.
Overall, Fader has 42 points in 40 games for the Capitols this season.
Fader is the 5th player from the Madison 18U team to sign an NAHL tender this season. He joins Austin Redders (Minnesota Wilderness), Phil Erickson (Coulee Region), Tyler Berndt and Kasey Fitz (Brookings Blizzard).
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held in June of 2015.
