Two more PHL players sign NAHL tenders

March 27, 2012

A pair of North American Prospects Hockey League (PHL) players have signed tenders to play in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) next season.

Connor Webb, 17, a goaltender for the Lansing Capitals 18U team, has signed an NAHL tender with the Michigan Warriors.

Kurt Gosselin, 17, a defenseman for the Detroit Falcons 18U team, has signed an NAHL tender with the Soo Eagles.

Webb, a native of South Lyon, Michigan, won’t have to travel far to play for the Warriors next season in the NAHL.  He has played the last two seasons for the Lansing Capitals 18U team and this season played in 13 PHL regular season games, posting a 10-2-1 record with a PHL-leading four shutouts.  Webb (6’2/185) ranked 2nd in the PHL in goals against average (1.78) and 4th in save percentage (91.6%).  Webb won seven out of his first eight PHL starts this season, recording all four shutouts in that time span.

Gosselin, a native of Brighton, Michigan, will also stay in his home state and play for the NAHL’s Soo Eagles, a new team in the NAHL for the 2012-13 season.  In 21 PHL games with the Detroit Falcons 18U team this past season, Gosselin (5’10/180) recorded 16 points (5 goals, 11 assists).  In the 3HL’s Championship Series, he recorded three points in four games to help Detroit to the semi-finals, where they eventually lost to the Pittsburgh Viper Stars in overtime.   Gosselin ranked in the top 10 in PHL scoring for defensemen.

To date, 43 PHL players have signed 2011-12 NAHL tenders.  View the complete list here.
