Indiana 16U players ink NAHL tenders with Corpus Christi

February 24, 2012

The Corpus Christi IceRays continue to sign tenders for next season, adding Drew Doyon and Grant Hutton from the Indiana Jr. Ice 16U team of the North American Prospects Hockey League (PHL) to the list of tenders inked for the 2012-13 season.

Doyon, a forward, is a member of the Indiana Jr. Ice 16U squad where in 16 games played this season, has 14 goals and 12 assists while registering 60 PIM’s.  Doyon is also a vital member of the power-play scoring three power-play goals and assisting four more.

Grant Hutton, a defenseman, also on the Indiana Jr. Ice 16U team, has notched four goals and 14 assists, along with 23 penalty minutes.

IceRays head coach Justin Quenneville spoke highly of the signings.  “We are excited about our two recent signed tenders from the PHL.  Both Drew and Grant were highly recruited players in our league and decided to sign with us.  We look forward to seeing them this summer at Main Camp.  Both bring great attributes with Drew's skill set and play making abilities, and Grant's powerful shot and size on the back end.”

The Indiana Jr. Ice 16U team just won the PHL 16U Championship in Troy, Michigan this past weekend during the PHL Championship series.  They defeated the Texas Tornado 16U team in the finals, 3-0.
