16U teams shine on Day 2 in New Jersey on Saturday

The NAPHL continued its fourth event of the 2022-23 season at the Middletown Sports Complex in Middletown, NJ, on Saturday with East Division 18U and 16U teams taking to the ice.

The 16U teams each played twice on Saturday.

NAHL Games: The New Jersey Titans are in town and will be hosting the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks on both Friday and Saturday night. Players can gain free entry to the game by wearing their team jersey, or if a team roster is sent to Joe DiMarino, joe.dimarino@titansnj.com he can make sure the team gets placed on a comp list. Parents or additional adults are $5.

Day 2 recaps

18U Division: The New Hampshire Avalanche opened up their second day of the East Showcase with a 3-2 win over the Northeast Generals. Forward Hunter Woolfrey buried a pair of goals for New Hampshire while the other score was put in by Kyle Dsilva. The Philadelphia Little Flyers shutout Philadelphia Hockey Club thanks to a strong performance from Jake Schunke. Dominic Dalessandro and Jeremy Jacobs scored a goal and dished an assist and Sammy Phillips scored the other goal. The New Jersey Titans took down the Southern TIER Admirals 3-2 with much help coming from Ryan Cook who scored and put up three points. Dario Sarcino and Grant Coykendall were the other goalscorers for the Titans. The Maine Nordiques edged past the New Jersey Rockets thanks to a late goal from Vladimir Sabel. Cameron DiLuzio scored the other goal for Philadelphia while the squad was backed by a strong performance in net from Braxton Castagno. 

16U Division: The Jr. Titans opened up their Saturday with a 4-3 victory over the Northeast Generals. Joe Violante had a goal and two assists for the Titans while Luke Delaney, Ethan Manbodhe, and Conor Gagnon also scored for New Jersey. Domenic Riccardi scored 2:52 into the extra period to give his Philadelphia Hockey Club squad a 3-2 victory over the New Hampshire Avalanche. Cole Werthman made 22 stops in the win while Marc Nicastro and Jay Campanella scored the goals in regulation for Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Little Flyers dominated the Maine Nordiques, defeating them by a final score of 9-2. Brian Rhoads, Stosh Tuschinski, Matt Cholaj, Gio Rhoads, Lorenzo Tita, and Cam Greenwalt all had multiple points in the win. The New Jersey Titans took down the Avalanche 3-2 after Phillip Bermingham scored the eventual game winner 12:42 into the 3rd period. Conor Gagnon also scored a pair of goals for the Titans. The Philadelphia Little Flyers powered past the Northeast Generals 5-1. Brian Rhoads buried a pair of goals for the Little Flyers and Stosh Tuschinski, Brett Linker, and Matt Cholaj tickled twine as well. Philadelphia Hockey Club completed Saturday night with a 5-2 victory over the Nordiques. Brady Blum, Nate King, and Kalib Capecci buried goals for Philadelphia and Carter Callahan had two goals and three points in the win.
