NAPHL announces Apex Learning Peak Performers for October 2022
The North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) announced its Apex Learning Virtual School Peak Performers for the month of October. The players were selected based upon their performance during the NAPHL regular season and playoff games played in October at the T1ER and FALL League event in Blaine, MN. The awards are given to players from NAPHL full-time T1ER and FALL League teams. Guest teams are not considered for the awards.
T1ER 18U
Forward: Gabe Keane, Omaha Mastery – Keene, 18, put up nine points in four games played during the second T1ER event in October. The 6’1/190 lbs. native of Nashville, TN, had three multi-point games and eight of his nine points were goals. His 15 goals currently leads the T1ER 18U Division.
Defense: Ian Norkevicus, Esmark Stars – Norkevicus, 18, had eight points in four games in October for the 1st place Stars. The 5’11/170 lbs. native of Pittsburgh, PA, had one goal and seven assists, which included a five-point game. His 12 points currently leads all T1ER 18U defensemen.
Goalie: Brady Govero, CarShield AAA – Govero, 18, posted two wins at the second event in October and gave up just three goals. The 6’3/190 lbs. native of St. Louis, MO, stopped 35 of 38 shots in the two wins. Govero is currently 4-0 in NAPHL games this season with a 1.50 GAA and .931 save percentage.
T1ER 16U
Forward: Logan Stawizynski, CarShield AAA - Stawizynski, 16, made a big statement at the event in October with eight points in four games. All eight of his points were goals, which included a game with four goals and another with two goals. His 14 points are currently 3rd in the T1ER 16U Division.
Defense: Harper Frey, Madison Capitols – Frey, 15, put up five points in four games during the October event. The 6’0/175 lbs. native of Madison, WI, had two multi-point games and put a goal and four assists. His 11 points currently leads all T1ER 16U defensemen.
Goalie: Jace Knorle, Madison Capitols – Knorle, 16, won both of his starts in October, while giving up just two goals in two games. The 6’0/180 lbs. native of Rosco, IL, posted a 21-save shutout over Vegas and made 38 saves in a 4-2 win over Tri State. In four NAPHL games, he has a .75 GAA and a .961 save percentage.
T1ER 15U
Forward: Liam Heary, Vegas Jr. Golden Knights – Heary, 15, put up 12 points in just four games during the event in October. The 5’8/130 lbs. native of Kent, WA, had six goals and six assists in the four games, which included an eight-point game. His 16 points currently leads all T1ER 15U players.
Defense: Jake Cosper, Arizona Bobcats – Cosper, 15, had six points in four games in October. The 5’11/160 lbs. native of Gilbert, AZ, had a goal and five assists, which also included two multi-point games. In eight NAPHL games this season, Cosper has seven points.
Goalie: Andrew Bely, CarShield AAA – Bely, 15, posted shutouts in both of his NAPHL starts in October. The 6’2/165 lbs. native of St. Louis, MO, made 16 saves in a win over Colorado Springs and 27 saves in a win over Valley Forge. Three of his four starts this season have resulted in shutouts.
T1ER 14U
Forward: Harper Sullivan, Tri State Spartans – Sullivan, 14, picked up 10 points in four games played during the October event. The 5’5/119 lbs. native of Cincinnati, OH, recorded seven goals and added three assists while recording three multi-point games.
Defense: Fedor Stepanyuk, Northwest Stars – Stepanyuk, 14, posted three points in four games in October. The 5’7/125 lbs. native of Moscow, Russia, had one goal and two assists in the event.
Goalie: Hudson Kutchma, Indy Jr. Fuel – Kutchma, 14, posted shutouts in both of his starts during the October event in Blaine. The 5’5/112 lbs. native of Indianapolis, IN, made 20 saves in a shutout of Esmark and eight saves in a shutout of Biggby Coffee.
FALL 18U
Forward: Alex Pottratz, Janesville Jets –.Pottratz, 18, led all 18U Fall players eight points in four games during the playoffs. The 5’10/160 lbs. native of Hudson, WI, had five goals and three assists, which included three multi-point games.
Defense: Gus Anderson, Chippewa Steel – Anderson, 17, had three points in four games during the Fall Playoffs helping the Steel to the 18U title. The native of Wayzata, MN, had a goal and an assist in a 6-3 win over Austin in the Championship game.
Goalie: Brady Altier, Chippewa Steel – Altier, 16, appeared in all four games during the Steel’s run to the Fall Championship. The 5’10/170 lbs. native of Mendota Heights, MN, allowed just five goals in the four games and stopped 103 of 108 shots, which was good for a 1.67 GAA and .954 save percentage.
FALL 16U
Forward: Drew Lindquist, St. Cloud Norsemen – Lindquist, 15, had six points in four games during the Fall Playoffs. The 5’7/135 lbs. native of Blaine, MN, put up a goal and five assists in helping the Norsemen to the title, which included three multi-point games and two assists in the Championship game.
Defense: Henry Schultz, Fairbanks Ice Dogs – Schultz, 16, recorded four points in four games during the playoffs. The 5’10/176 lbs. native of St. Louis Park, MN, had two goals and two assists and recorded at least a point in three of the four games.
Goalie: Cameron Bernard, St. Cloud Norsemen – Bernard, 16, helped the Norsemen to the 16U Fall Championship, winning both of his starts and allowing just three goals. The 5’9/135 lbs. native of Arbor Vitae, WI, stopped 45 of 48 shots and stopped 23 shots in a shutout in the title game.
