NAPHL finishes third event; Crowns FALL League Champs

18U FALL League Champions: Chippewa Steel; 16U FALL League Champions: St. Cloud Norsemen

The NAPHL concluded its third event of the 2022-23 season in Blaine, Minnesota with the conclusion of the T1ER Pre-Tender Showcase and also the FALL League Championship and Consolation games.

The 18U and 16U T1ER teams finished their second event of the season with one final game on Monday, while two new Champions were crowned in the 18U and 16U Divisions of the FALL League.

Day 4 Recaps

18U T1ER: In final day action, the morning started with Madison picking up a 4-2 win over Biggby Coffee as Owen Meyer and Trey Wandall each scored twice in the win. Omaha picked up a 5-2 win over the Green Giants as forward Gabe Kenne had a career game with four goals and an assist. Behind four goals from Simon Parini, the Tri State Spartans cruised to an 8-4 win over the Lakers. The Grey Ducks picked up a 5-2 win over the Indy Jr. Fuel thanks to two goals from Wyatt Farrell and 24 saves from Mitch Getting. The Colorado Springs Tigers picked up a 5-4 shootout win over the Moose thanks to two goals from Cai Robinson in the win. The Northwest Stars got goals from six different players and 29 saves from Jakob Barcelona in a 6-0 shutout win over the Voyageurs. Team Alaska outshot Ontario 56-7 and got two goals from Tyler Osborne and three points from Josh Serino in a 7-1 win over the Jr. Reign. The Esmark Stars picked up a thrilling 5-4 shotout win over CarShield. Defenseman Ian Norkevicus had a goal and an assist in the win. The Walleye got 21 saves from Drew Dorsey and two goals and an assist apiece from Mason Wanka and Teagan Dodge in a 4-1 win over Vegas.

18U FALL: In the Championship Game, the Chippewa Steel scored three times in the 3rd period to break a 3-3 deadlock to top the Austin Bruins, 6-3 for the 2022 FALL League title. Jack Gorden had two goals and Gus Anderson, Mark DeNoyer, and Blake Kohnen also had multiple-point games in the win. In the consolation match-ups, the St. Cloud Norsemen beat the Janesville Jets thanks to 31 saves from Wes Johnson in the win. The Minnesota Wilderness got goals from six different players and two goals from Garrett Olek in a 7-5 win over Fairbanks. Kenai River picked up a 7-3 win over the Wisconsin Windigo thanks to a hat-trick from Lucas Busch.

16U T1ER: Adam Kimbrel stopped all 20 shots that came his way and Cullen Murray had a goal and an assist as the Lakers took down the Indy Jr. Fuel, 2-0. Ontario got 31 saves from Thomas Andreeff in a 3-1 win over Team Alaska. Five different players scored for the Esmark Stars in a 5-3 win over CarShield. Ivan Safronov had a goal and an assist in the win. Thanks to three points from Max Egan, the Green Giants beat Omaha Mastery, 5-2. Madison goalie Jace Knorle made 38 saves in a 4-2 win over the Tri State Spartans. Biggby Coffee got two goals from Matthew Brick in a 4-1 win over the Vegas Jr. Golden Knights. The Moose picked up a 3-2 win over the Colorado Springs Tigers thanks to two goals from Christian Garrity. Thanks to hat-tricks from both Brennan Hogan and Lachlan Hoffman, the Walleye defeated the Northwest Stars, 7-3.

16U FALL: In the Championship game, the St. Cloud Norsemen got a 23-save shutout from Cameron Bernard in a 3-0 win over Fairbanks. Tristan Pownall, Mario Bernard, and Andrew Thompson all scored in the win. In the consolation match-ups, the Wisconsin Windigo got a hat-trick and two assists from Will Murvich in a 6-2 win over the Chippewa Steel. In other action, the Kenai River Brown Bears got two goals from Kaiden Gordon and 24 saves from Timothy Urdahl in a 3-1 win over the Janesville Jets. In the final game, the Minnesota Wilderness got four goals and four assists from Timothy Balthazor in a 13-0 win over the Austin Bruins.
