The Minnesota Magicians of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that goaltender and NAPHL alum Darius Bell has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Robert Morris University in Atlantic Hockey.

Bell, 20, is an NAPHL Ladder of Development success story. Prior to playing junior hockey, he played youth hockey for Shattuck-St. Mary’s Prep, which included a season with the 18U AAA team in the NAPHL during the 2018-19 season.

During that season, he was 8-4-0 in 12 NAPHL games, which included a 2.08 goals against average and .921 save percentage.

After playing a year of junior hockey in Canada, the 6’1/180 lbs. native of Miami, FL, joined the Magicians in the NAHL this season and has put up some very solid numbers. In nine games played, he has posted a 6-1-1 record with a 2.16 goals against average and a .928 save percentage.

“Proud and excited to announce my commitment to play division 1 hockey at Robert Morris University! Thank you to family, friends, coaches, and everyone else who has helped along the way,” said Bell on Twitter.

“We couldn’t be prouder of Darius and the work he has put in this season. He’s a good kid and very well-liked by his teammates. He’ll be great for the Robert Morris program,” said Magicians head coach Stu Bickel.
