NAPHL Alumni Update

December 12, 2019

NAHL and NAPHL alum Corbin Kaczperski was named the ECAC Goaltender of the Week.

NCAA #1 Star and NCHC Player of the Week: Chris Wilkie, Colorado College (Omaha AAA, 2010-12)
Wilkie had a monster weekend to lead Colorado College to a sweep at Princeton, racking up five points in the two wins, including a pair of goals in both games. He also had a hand in both game-winning goals in the sweep. In Friday’s opener, the Florida Panthers draft pick tied a season high with three points, scoring CC’s fourth and sixth goals in a 7-2 victory, while assisting on the game-winner to make it 3-1 in the second period. He fired four shots on goal and was +3 Friday, while earning First Star of the Game. The next night, Wilkie scored both CC tallies in a 2-1 victory, breaking a scoreless deadlock early in the third period, then potting the game-winner only 19 seconds into overtime for his first career game-winning goal. He was tabbed Second Star of the Game Saturday. Wilkie finished the battle of the Tigers with four goals, an assist, a +5 plus/minus and seven shots on goal, while also blocking two. On the season, he has 16 points in 12 games and is tied for the NCHC lead with nine goals.

Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week: Blake Christensen, AIC (Motor City, 2010-11)
Christensen continued his torrid pace for the Yellow Jackets, notching two goals and five assists for seven points in three games, the most points of any player in the country this week. That included back-to-back three-point games against Canisius, as he had three helpers in a 6-0 win on Friday and then two goals and an assist, including the overtime winner, as the team rallied from down 2-0 in the third to win 3-2 in extra time. He reached the 100-point mark with his assist Tuesday against Sacred Heart.

ECAC Goalie of the Week: Corbin Kaczperski, Yale (Detroit Falcons, 2012-14)
Kaczperski was nothing short of dominant in Yale’s weekend sweep of RPI and Union, sending aside 62 of the 63 shots he faced over the weekend. He made a career-high 36 saves in Friday’s 4-1 win over RPI, before stopping all 26 shots he faced against Union for his first shutout of the season.

WCHA Rookie of the Week: Nathan Smith, Minnesota State (Tampa Scorpions, 2015-17)
Forward Nathan Smith registered two points on two assists as top-ranked Minnesota State claimed two home WCHA victories over Lake Superior State last weekend. The Hudson, Fla., native tallied one helper in Friday's 5-1 win before adding a second assist to his totals in Saturday's 2-0 victory over the Lakers. Smith ranks second in scoring in the WCHA and is tied for fourth in the nation in freshmen scoring with 15 points on four goals and 11 assists in 14 games played. This is his third Rookie of the Week honor this season.

NA3HL Central Division Star of the Week: Dillan Bentley, Peoria Mustangs (Madison Capitols, 2016-19)
Bentley and the Mustangs took a weekend split against the Warhawks, during which the Illinois-native bagged six points across the two contests. Assisting once on Saturday, Bentley erupted for four more assists and the game-winning goal on Sunday — his second GWG this season. Bentley’s outburst also made it three straight with at least a point for him, pushing his season totals to 11g-14a—25pts in 23 games.
