July 9, 2018
The Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Colton Fletcher has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Oswego State in the SUNYAC.
Fletcher, 21, is another great ladder of development success story, having played in the NAPHL, NA3HL, and NAHL.
The 5’11/175 lbs. native of Wasilla, Alaska, spent two years playing in the NAPHL for the Omaha AAA team before joining the Kenai River Brown Bears during the 2014-15 season.
During the 2015-16 season, he spent a small part of the season with the Great Falls Americans in the NA3HL.
Fletcher joined the Wings during the 2016-17 season helping them to a NAHL Robertson Cup Finals appearance. During his two seasons with the Wings, he played in 90 games and put up 24 goals and 27 assists for 51 points.
“Colton was a big piece of the success here the last two seasons. Colton plays with an edge that’s tough to come by. Oswego is getting a good player,” said Wings Head Coach Scott Langer.
Colton will join the Oswego State Lakers next fall. Oswego State is located in Oswego, NY. They are a DIII Hockey school playing in the SUNYAC conference. Last season they went 18-6-2.
“I’m excited to announce my commitment to play college hockey at Oswego State. I would personally like to thank my coaches, the Odde Family, teammates and my family for everything they have done to help me along the way. I’m excited to be apart of such a great school and can’t wait to get started,” said Fletcher.
