Madison 18U defenseman Wilson signs NAHL tender
February 2, 2017
Madison Capitols 18U defenseman Noah Wilson, who began the season playing in the NAHL with the Minnesota Magicians, has signed a tender with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.
The Madison Capitols, proud members of the NAPHL, are pleased to announce that 18U defenseman Noah Wilson has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the Midwest Division.
Wilson, 18, is in his first season playing in the NAPHL for the Capitols. The 5’11/180 lbs. native of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, has played in 9 NAPHL games to date, which included the last two regular season events in December and January.
He has recorded three assists in those 9 NAPHL games
Wilson began the season playing in the NAHL for the Minnesota Magicians. He appeared in 15 NAHL games from September through November and had three points. His first career NAHL goal came at the Showcase.
Prior to playing this season in the NAHL and NAPHL, Wilson played three seasons of Prep Hockey in Wisconsin for Fond du Lac High School.
He is the third member of the Madison Capitols 18U team to sign an NAHL tender this season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 6, 2017.
