POE 18U forward Johnson makes NCAA DI commitment

The Pursuit of Excellence (POE) Prep team of the NAPHL is pleased to announce that forward Robbie Johnson has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the Air Force Falcons for the 2017-18 season. Air Force is a member of the Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA).
 
Johnson, 16, appeared in 14 NAPHL regular season games last season with the POE 18U team during the 2013-14 season and had four points (1 goal, 3 assists). He also had two points in four NAPHL playoff games.
 
He recorded 11 points in 15 Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) Prep Division games for POE last season, while also adding one assist in three playoff games.
 
The Kamloops, BC product will play the 2014-15 season with the Trail Smoke Eaters of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL).
 
“One of Robbie's goals was to obtain a scholarship and play in the NCAA,” it said on the Smoke Eaters website. “Having now realized one of his goals Robbie is very excited to be part of the Smoke Eater organization.”
  
Johnson was selected in the fifth round, 96th overall, by the Kootenay Ice in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.
